3RD NEPHI

Nephi, son of Helaman, departs forever from the land after ordaining his son, Nephi, to take his place. Gadianton robbers are formidable. Nephites and Lamanites join forces to go against them and lose. Robber chief Giddianhi writes righteous governor Lachoneus demanding surrender. Lachoneus appoints the prophet Gidgiddoni as commander and Gidgiddoni has Nephites and Lamanites all gather in the center of the land with everything they own and pray to God for strength. Robbers are beaten. People go back to their homes and rebuild. They become wicked again. The robbers regroup and murder two High Judges. Nephite government breaks up into individual tribes and tribes turn away from God. Nephi testifies of Christ with great power and performs miracles. Many are baptized unto repentance but more remain wicked, even killing prophets. On the Eastern Hemisphere Christ is crucified. On the Western Hemisphere there is horrendous destruction of the wicked. Cities are burned, smothered with mountains, covered completely with water, or smashed into valleys.
