Jacob, Enos, Jarom, Omni, about 544-130 B.C. and

Words of Mormon about A.D.385

Jacob becomes religious leader of the Nephites. Jacob and his descendants are chosen to be writers and custodians of the Small Plates. Jacob calls greedy and lascivious men to repentance, teaches about the scattering and gathering of Israel using Zenos’s allegory of the tame and wild olive trees and defends belief in Christ to an anti-Christ. Enos, Jacob’s son, prays when his “soul hungered” for a testimony and receives a message from God. His descendants, Jarom, Omni, Amaron, Chemish (Amaron’s brother), and Abinadom, write briefly on the Plates. Amaleki writes of the righteous Nephites migrating to Zarahemla with king Mosiah I.

Mormon finds the Small Plates when abridging the Large Plates. His words connect the Small and Large Plates.
