HELAMAN

About 52- 5 B.C.

High Judge Pahoran dies and his sons contend for High Judge seat. Younger Pahoran wins and Paanchi turns traitor and is executed. Pahoran is killed by wicked Gadianton robber, Kishkumen. Nephite dissenter Coriantumr leads Lamanites to capture Zarahemla. It is recaptured under Moroni’s son Moronihah but Pacumeni is killed. Helaman’s son Helaman is appointed Judge. He has two righteous sons, Nephi and Lehi. Many Nephites migrate north. Many more wars erupt between Nephites and Lamanites. When Helaman dies, Nephi becomes High Judge. Nephi gives up the judgment seat and with brother Lehi becomes full-time missionary. With the Holy Ghost they convert many Lamanites who become righteous while Nephites become wicked. Gadiantons murder two High Judges and seize Nephite government. Nephi causes famine when people won’t repent. They repent and famine ceases and they prosper but become wicked again. Samuel the Lamanite, a prophet, warns Nephites and prophesies of Christ. Only a few are converted and join Church of Christ.
