Chapters 1-42, about 91-73 B.C.


Alma gives up position as High Judge to be a full-time missionary. Amulek becomes his missionary companion. They have success in many cities but most in Ammonihah remain horribly wicked. The sons of Mosiah go as missionaries to Lamanites and with the Holy Ghost convert thousands. Converted Lamanites move to area in Nephite territory. With a missionary team, Alma and Amulek go to wicked area of the Zoramites. The rich and proud reject them. Most of poor and humble accept the Gospel and are expelled from the area. The converted Lamanites welcome them. Alma explains the Gospel to his sons. Helaman becomes custodian of Nephite and Jaredite records.
